SPF Protection
Discover just what SPF protection is and how it is able to shield your email address.
SPF, which stands for Sender Policy Framework, is an email safety system, which is designed to confirm if an email message was sent by an official server. Using SPF protection for a particular domain will stop the counterfeiting of email addresses generated with the domain. In layman's terms: enabling this function for a domain name makes a special record in the Domain Name System (DNS) containing the IP of the servers that are permitted to send emails from mailboxes under the domain. Once this record propagates worldwide, it exists on all of the DNS servers that direct the Internet traffic. Whenever an e-mail message is sent, the first DNS server it goes through checks whether it comes from an accredited server. In the event it does, it is forwarded to the destination address, however when it does not come from a server indexed in the SPF record for the domain, it is discarded. Thus nobody can mask an email address to make it appear as if you are sending spam. This approach is also identified as email spoofing.

SPF Protection in Hosting
You are able to activate the SPF protection option for your domain names with a few clicks inside the Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with our Linux hosting. This is done through the section with the same name and you'll be able to set up the protection for each and every domain on our innovative cloud hosting platform. Using a very intuitive interface, all you have to enter is the hostname of the mail server that will be accredited to send messages from your e-mail addresses and its IPv4 or IPv6 address. Of course, you can include several servers as well, when needed. In case your e-mail addresses are handled by us, you may also take advantage of a more secure option by placing a limit that e-mails can be sent only if your domain names have our MX records. This solution can't be applied when your website is here, but your e-mail addresses are with a third-party provider. In either case, the SPF protection option can definitely enhance your web protection and prevent other people from spoofing your e-mail addresses.
- SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting
When you have a semi-dedicated server account with us, you will be able to secure your emails by activating the SPF protection service for any domain name hosted in your account with only a few clicks. This is done from the Emails section of the Hepsia Control Panel that comes with the semi-dedicated accounts and even if you lack previous experience with such things, you will not have any trouble to activate the security. All that you'll have to do will be to find a domain from a drop-down list then type the mail server hostname and IPv4 or IPv6 address. Once the new record propagates, messages from your email addresses will be delivered worldwide only if they're sent from that particular server. In case your email addresses are managed by our company and not by some third-party provider, you will also be able to activate an option for emails to be mailed only if the domain name includes our MX records and this is the most secure option. In case you have any questions about thisfunction, you can get in touch with our technical support team 24/7. - SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting
